Application information
Find out about requirements, fees, and deadlines
First-year
Apply as a freshman if you will soon be a high school graduate who has never enrolled at a college or university (don't count college classes you may have taken in high school). November 1 is key! We must receive your complete application (your admission application and all required materials) by November 1 if you wish to be considered for most university merit scholarships. And while not required, we strongly recommend meeting the November 1 deadline if you wish to be considered for Honors and Scholars Programs, the Morrill Scholarship Program, and College of Engineering majors.
Transfer
Students interested in transferring to Ohio State should not use the Common Application. Please head over to undergrad.osu.edu/transfer for a link to our transfer application. There you'll find deadlines, requirements and enrollment criteria for your major. You should apply as a transfer student if you are a high school graduate who has attended another university since graduating from high school. A third of the undergraduates who received a bachelor's degree from Ohio State last year were transfer students. Which means regardless of where you started college, you can graduate a Buckeye!
Additional Information
Ohio State makes every effort to make a world-class education both accessible and affordable. By taking an innovative approach to accessibility and affordability, the university has created more pathways to college for more students .
- Freshmen admitted to the Columbus campus for autumn semester are automatically considered for most merit scholarships if we received their complete admission applications by our November 1 early action deadline (larger awards require additional steps; see meritawards.osu.edu).
- To receive the most financial aid, file the FAFSA and submit the ScholarshipUniverse application by Ohio State's priority date (see the steps).
